Support with inspections and authority recommendations

From inspection preparation to follow-up action

Preparation starts with the inspection scope or the authority's written request. We compare it with decisions, measurement results, records and the installation's actual operating arrangements. This reveals gaps in the evidence and matters that the operator needs to explain. Documents are organised so that each requirement can be linked to the available evidence of how it is being addressed.

Within the agreed scope, we help explain technical issues and prepare supporting material for responses. Following the inspection, we review the findings and recommendations, separating documentation tasks from organisational or technical actions. We identify dependencies and the evidence needed to record completion, recognising that preparing a written response is not the same as resolving the underlying issue.

The service provides expert support within the defined inspection scope. Legal representation is available only through an appropriate partner. Where findings indicate a need for new measurements, installation changes or further documentation, we explain their place in the follow-up plan; carrying out those additional tasks requires a separately agreed scope.

Environmental training for management teams

Environmental knowledge for management decisions

We develop the programme around participants' roles and the decisions they make. We identify environmental topics relevant to the organisation, how information reaches management and situations requiring leadership involvement. This keeps the training focused on understanding consequences and responsibilities rather than on technical detail that belongs with the organisation's specialist teams.

We explore the relationships between operations, investment, documentation and oversight of environmental obligations. Decision-making scenarios illustrate what information managers need and when a further assessment is appropriate. Participants build a shared understanding of key terms, recognise risk signals and practise asking useful questions of environmental, operations and capital project teams before a decision is taken.

The content and level of detail reflect the organisation and participants' existing knowledge. Training supports informed management but does not replace assessment of a particular issue or review of facility documents. If questions raised during the session need source evidence, we explain what information is required to move from general understanding to a project-specific decision.

Technical data

Framework agreement and ongoing environmental support

Ongoing support shaped around your facility

Environmental support needs to address routine operations alongside changes to processes, equipment and working arrangements. We begin by reviewing the facility's activities, available decisions, existing documentation and data collection practices. Together, we identify matters requiring regular attention and issues arising from expansion or modernisation that need their own specialist assessment or documentation.

This review informs the scope of support, allocation of responsibilities and work schedule. We structure information flows between operations staff, project teams and technical specialists. Within the agreed scope, we review documents, prepare material for communication with authorities and explain how proposed changes affect the next steps. Periodic reporting makes open issues and completed actions visible to the team.

The framework agreement defines the boundaries of the service and how additional work is commissioned. Measurements, modelling or documentation for a new development are included only as agreed. Findings reflect the information available at the time, so significant changes at the facility provide a reason to revisit priorities and update the support plan.

Technical data

Subject Operational obligations, documentation and changes at the facility

It helps your team plan internal work, commission specialist input and track obligations covered by the agreement as the installation changes.

Environmental data preparation for ESG reporting

Build an environmental dataset with a traceable evidence trail

We agree the environmental information needed by the reporting team, organisational boundaries and reference period. Available data on the selected topics, such as energy, emissions, water or waste, is reviewed. Information owners, indicator definitions and collection frequency are identified before records from different facilities, systems or documents are combined into a consolidated dataset.

Units, calculation methods and aggregation rules are organised consistently. Measured or documented values are distinguished from estimates and missing information. For relevant indicators, we establish a route from the original record through any calculation to the reported value. This helps explain discrepancies, reduce double counting and prepare a repeatable process for updating information in the next reporting period.

The service concerns the agreed environmental dataset, not automatically the complete ESG report or every area of the organisation. We identify completeness and comparability limitations where they affect interpretation. Preparing the package is not independent assurance or a standalone declaration of report compliance; its purpose is to organise the agreed information base for reporting.

Technical data

Subject Environmental indicators and data sources within the agreed ESG reporting scope.
Service type Data preparation, collection methodology and audit trail development.
Assessment basis and requirements Agreed reporting scope, indicator definitions, organisational boundaries, reporting period and available supporting records.

The material helps the reporting team use the information and explain its preparation without extending the assignment into a declaration of compliance for the complete report.

Scope and limitations

The service does not include a standalone declaration of report compliance.

Groundwater monitoring

Build a comparable record of groundwater conditions

We review the monitoring purpose, available observation points and existing documentation. Relevant information on ground conditions, groundwater and site use is considered where available. We examine which parameters were previously analysed, when sampling took place and whether the location and characteristics of monitoring points support meaningful comparisons between successive rounds of investigation.

The agreed programme is coordinated with sampling providers and the laboratory, with attention to sample identification and records of relevant conditions. Results are interpreted by separating observed changes from gaps in the series, method differences and incompatible analyses. Time-based comparisons are related to available installation and site information without attributing a change to one source without sufficient evidence.

Trend assessment depends on the length and quality of the record and the extent of site understanding. Where the evidence is insufficient, we identify useful additions. Investigations are performed by suitable partners and laboratories. New monitoring points or wider hydrogeological investigations require a separately defined scope and are not automatically included in a routine monitoring assignment.

Technical data

Subject Groundwater quality changes within a defined network of monitoring points.
Service type Investigation coordination and comparative assessment of monitoring series.
Assessment basis and requirements Programme objectives, monitoring point records, available ground and groundwater information, historical results and requirements relevant to the site.

Ambient air quality and dust monitoring

Observe air quality alongside activity and site conditions

The campaign is designed around the investor's or operator's objective, the activity involved and locations sensitive to its effects. Parameters, monitoring positions and the observation period account for background conditions and possible unrelated sources. The scope aims to enable meaningful comparison between results and the progress of construction works or installation operations within the surrounding area.

Measurements are performed by an appropriate partner or subcontractor coordinated by KFB Enviro. We organise results and relate them to information about activity, weather and events affecting interpretation. Analysis describes variation and trends during the campaign, considering data quality and continuity. Individual episodes are distinguished from recurring patterns that may warrant attention or additional investigation.

An elevated ambient reading does not by itself establish the contribution of a particular source. The strength of interpretation depends on monitoring locations, parameters and contextual information. We explain whether the evidence supports a connection with site activity or requires additional comparisons. A short campaign is not automatically treated as a description of air quality throughout the year.

Technical data

Subject Ambient air quality and dust around projects, works or operating facilities.
Service type Ambient monitoring campaign delivered by a coordinated specialist partner.
Assessment basis and requirements Observation purpose, activity characteristics, local conditions and methods appropriate to the selected air quality parameters.

It highlights events requiring attention and assessment limits, supporting further monitoring or review of construction and operating practices around the site.

Waste generation permit application support

A waste balance connected to installation processes

We begin by tracing the production and supporting processes covered by the assignment. We establish where waste arises, what information is available and how streams may change at the proposed capacity or following modernisation. Existing operational data is distinguished from projections for a new solution so that historical quantities and application assumptions are not inadvertently combined.

We organise waste types and quantities, describe their origins and set out the agreed storage and handling arrangements. The balance is checked against operating parameters and source records supplied by the operator. Differences between process descriptions, records and forecasts are clarified, with missing information identified to support the adopted values and distinguish the individual waste streams.

The service concerns waste generation within a defined installation. This scope should not be confused with a permit for waste collection or treatment. The application describes the proposed waste management arrangements and their connection with the process, helping the operator relate the documentation to actual activities and understand how planned changes may affect the description prepared.

Technical data

Subject Waste streams generated by a defined installation
Service type Waste generation permit application and waste-stream balance
Assessment basis and requirements Process descriptions, operator records, capacity assumptions and documentation requirements relevant to the waste generation scope.
Method
  1. Connect waste generation points with the installation's processes.

It shows the connection between process parameters and application data, providing an organised package for use in the permitting procedure relating to the installation.

Periodic environmental noise measurements

Noise results connected to actual operating conditions

A sound level alone does not explain what happened during a survey. We review sources, operating periods and the surroundings before agreeing suitable measurement positions and survey conditions. Planning also considers site access and whether noise from the assessed activity can be distinguished from other sounds present in the surrounding area.

During the survey, we document relevant facility or infrastructure operating conditions, the measurement setting and circumstances affecting interpretation. Results are processed for the agreed assessment periods and compared with applicable criteria where relevant. The report therefore explains both the numerical findings and the basis for comparison, making clear which operating conditions the evidence represents.

The assessment describes the observed situation rather than every possible operating mode. Where intermittent events, background sound or the representativeness of the campaign affect the conclusions, we explain their significance. This helps you decide whether the next step should be an additional survey, targeted source diagnosis or a longer period of monitoring.

Technical data

Subject Environmental noise from a facility or infrastructure asset.
Service type Periodic field measurements of environmental noise.
Assessment basis and requirements Survey purpose, site documentation, the identified measurement obligation and a field method appropriate to the source.
Method
  1. Agree operating conditions, measurement positions and assessment periods.

  4. Compare findings with criteria and explain assessment limitations.
Delivery model KFB Enviro

What you receive

You receive a measurement report and assessment of results, covering survey locations, conditions, methodology and conclusions against the agreed purpose. The document distinguishes tested operating conditions from situations requiring further observation, supporting future measurement planning and informed management of the facility's environmental noise impact.

Workplace noise measurements

Assess noise in the context of the work being done

The sound level beside a machine is not the same as the exposure of a person working across several locations. We review tasks, shift organisation and process conditions to select a measurement strategy reflecting actual work. We also define the activities and employee groups represented by the survey and the task-duration information needed for assessment.

Measurements are connected to recorded activities and production conditions, then processed against the agreed description of a working day. We assess the significance of changing noise levels and events relevant to exposure. The report explains how task durations were used, keeping the assessment assumptions clear for those responsible for managing conditions within the facility.

Conclusions apply to the tasks investigated and the assumed organisation of work. Changes in workload, task duration or equipment may require reassessment. Results help identify areas needing attention, but do not replace a wider occupational risk assessment or the development and implementation of a noise reduction strategy across all of the facility's processes.

Technical data

Subject Employees' noise exposure while carrying out work tasks.
Service type Workplace noise measurements and exposure assessment.
Assessment basis and requirements Task characteristics, working-time arrangements and applicable occupational noise assessment requirements and methods.
Method
  1. Identify tasks, workstations and representative process conditions.

  3. Calculate exposure using the duration of relevant activities.
  4. Assess results and explain the survey's representativeness.
Delivery model KFB Enviro

What you receive

You receive a measurement report and employee exposure assessment, including the activities investigated and working-time assumptions. The material connects results to specific workstations or task patterns, identifies where further measurements may be useful and provides evidence for subsequent decisions on managing noise in the workplace.

Legal support on environmental matters

A coordinated technical and legal position

This service addresses matters where installation records, test results or the nature of an environmental impact influence the available course of action. It may concern application documentation, questions raised by an authority or an operational issue. With the client and legal partner, we separate questions requiring technical assessment from those that call for legal analysis.

KFB Enviro organises the technical evidence, including process descriptions, measurement data, calculation assumptions and operating conditions. We explain the significance and limitations of results and investigate inconsistencies between documents. The legal partner considers this material in the context of the matter. Coordination helps ensure that the proposed position and the technical documentation refer to the same underlying facts.

KFB Enviro is responsible for technical input; legal services are provided by a qualified partner. The partner's activities, including any representation, are agreed separately. Recommendations reflect the available evidence and unresolved questions. We do not replace missing data with unsupported assumptions or predetermine the outcome of proceedings or a dispute.

Technical data

Subject Technical and legal aspects of a defined environmental matter
Service type Coordinated preparation of a technical and legal opinion
Assessment basis and requirements Case documents, reviewed technical evidence and legal analysis undertaken by a qualified partner.
Method
  1. Separate technical and legal questions and allocate responsibilities.
