Environmental training for management teams

Environmental knowledge for management decisions

We develop the programme around participants' roles and the decisions they make. We identify environmental topics relevant to the organisation, how information reaches management and situations requiring leadership involvement. This keeps the training focused on understanding consequences and responsibilities rather than on technical detail that belongs with the organisation's specialist teams.

We explore the relationships between operations, investment, documentation and oversight of environmental obligations. Decision-making scenarios illustrate what information managers need and when a further assessment is appropriate. Participants build a shared understanding of key terms, recognise risk signals and practise asking useful questions of environmental, operations and capital project teams before a decision is taken.

The content and level of detail reflect the organisation and participants' existing knowledge. Training supports informed management but does not replace assessment of a particular issue or review of facility documents. If questions raised during the session need source evidence, we explain what information is required to move from general understanding to a project-specific decision.

Technical data

Subject Environmental responsibilities, risks and obligations in management
Service type Training for board members and management teams
Assessment basis and requirements The organisation's activities, participants' roles and selected requirements relevant to the management decisions discussed.
Method
  1. Identify learning needs and the decisions within participants' remit.
  2. Prepare a programme linked to the organisation's activities.
  3. Discuss decision scenarios and the reporting of environmental risks.
  4. Summarise key lessons and questions for subsequent internal work.

What you receive

You receive an agreed programme, training materials and a delivered training session. The content clarifies management's role, important dependencies and questions useful for overseeing environmental matters. The materials provide a reference for discussions with operations and project teams and for recognising when the organisation needs more detailed specialist support on a particular issue.

Environmental training for project, design and procurement teams

Turning environmental requirements into project specifications

The programme focuses on the interfaces between the developer, design team and procurement. We examine situations where missing equipment data, unclear operating conditions or late recognition of an environmental constraint complicates project delivery. Participants learn to organise requirements during early planning and identify the information needed for a meaningful comparison of proposed solutions.

Practical work follows the structure of a specification: from the environmental objective to a technical parameter and the evidence needed to demonstrate it. We discuss questions for suppliers, the difference between declared data and data relevant to a particular application, and topics requiring specialist analysis. Particular attention is given to passing agreed requirements between teams and project stages.

Training is tailored to the types of project and the responsibilities of participants. The principles support better specifications but do not replace design calculations or assessment of a specific quotation. Questions drawn from actual work help identify the necessary information and the points at which an appropriate specialist should join the project team.

What you receive

You receive a programme, materials and training focused on the work of project, design and procurement teams. The materials help organise requirements, request relevant technical information and define how it should be checked. They provide a shared reference for specification development, supplier discussions and the handover of agreed requirements between people responsible for the project.
